The team claimed it had nothing to do with COVID-19. Davis was also suffering an injured right thumb and was doubtful whether or not he would be able to play at all. There were no double-digit scorers among the Lakers’ starters.

After missing two games due to an injured right big toe, Theis returned and shot 7-of-11 in 32 minutes for Houston, which has now lost seven of its first nine games.
