Debutant Evan Fournier scored 32 points for the New York Knicks against his former team the Boston Celtics including a go-ahead three-pointer in their 138-134 double-overtime win

With 56.1 seconds remaining in the second extended session, Fournier’s 26-foot jumper put the Knicks ahead in their first game of the season, and Derrick Rose secured the victory.

New York’s Julius Randle led all scorers with 35 points, while the Celtics’ Jaylen Brown had 46 points to go along with 20 from Jayson Tatum, whose missed jump shot at the conclusion of the first overtime session proved costly.

The Charlotte Hornets rallied from behind to defeat the Indiana Pacers 123-122 in the third quarter, scoring 24 points without reply.

LaMelo Ball scored 31 points in the win, including seven three-pointers, and Gordon Hayward scored 27.

Despite being without Ben Simmons for their trip to New Orleans, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Pelicans 117-97, with Joel Embiid and Furkan Korkmaz scoring 22 points.

The Chicago Bulls defeated the Detroit Pistons 94-88, the Washington Wizards defeated the Toronto Raptors 98-83, and Ja Morant scored 37 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 132-121 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Houston Rockets 124-106, the San Antonio Spurs upset the Orlando Magic 123-97, and the Utah Jazz won the Oklahoma City Thunder 107-86. Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 124-121, while the Denver Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 110-98.
