Liverpool have completed the signing of Ozan Kabak on loan until the end of the season.

Kabak, 20 is a highly-rated central defender, he’s the club’s second defensive arrival on deadline day following the capture of Ben Davies from Preston North End.

The Defender joins Liverpool initially on loan, for a fee believed to be £2.5 million with an option to buy in the summer.

The signings of Kabak and Davies were announced to add defensive reinforcements after extensive injuries at the back with all of their senior central defenders, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip out of action.

Kabak, who will wear the No. 19 shirt, has yet to arrive on Merseyside, but will do so on Tuesday and will then be unveiled as a Liverpool player.

Kabak has seven caps for Turkey and made 42 appearances for Schalke after joining them in 2019 from VfB Stuttgart.

“As of today, I am no longer part of the wonderful Schalke 04 family, a place I had the privilege to call ‘home’ for one and a half years,” Kabak said in a statement on Twitter.

“I have no doubt that Schalke 04 will soon reach the level of success this club deserves.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had been suggesting for several weeks that a replacement centre-back would be a major lift for his team.

Klopp got his wish at last as the Reds brought in two defenders in the final hours of the transfer window.
