KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 98 from 42 balls to propel Punjab Kings to victory over Chennai Super Kings

Punjab Kings who have a rare chance of qualification won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kings had a strong bowling plan against Chennai Super Kings which helped them to pick 4 quick wickets and put them on the front foot.

Du Plessis playing terrible shots, ensured that he kept Chennai in the game and took the team’s total to 134.

Despite losing quick wickets, Rahul’s approach was unperturbed, KL Rahul’s 98 of 42 balls took Punjab Kings to their 6th victory.

Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami displayed their variations in bowling, early in their overs troubling Chennai Super Kings batters, and restricted their powerplay total at 30 for 2.

Chris Jordan who came to bowl the middle overs also got wickets of Uthappa and Ambati Raydu. Having lost 4 wickets for 42, skipper Dhoni and du Plessis tried building a partnership but dhoni who struggles against leg spinners couldn’t read Ravi Bishnoi’s googly and got bowled in the 12th over.

Faf du Plessis did not lose his guts and kept rotating the strike with R Jadeja, having played more than 40 deliveries du Plessis began taking in bowlers in the final 3 overs and ensured CSK to get a defendable total of 134 in 20 overs.

Punjab Kings who came into bat had to chase down the target in 17 balls if they wanted their net run rate to get better than KKR, who are right now 4th on the points table. Target of 135 was impossible to finish in 17 balls but PBKS were eager to conclude the game began batting aggressively.

Skipper KL Rahul began batting who used to anchor the innings began batting at a strike rate of more than 200. Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan could not contribute much but KL Rahul’s 98 of 42 made sure PBKS chased down the target in 13 overs.
