Mohammad Nabi scored an unbeaten 71 to boost the Renegades lead a 7 match losing streak to an end

The Strikers have often begun slowly this season, but this time around, they have got off to a top start. While Phil Salt is expected to be the more aggressive of the opening batsmen, it’s Matt Renshaw who has raced off to 25 from 14 deliveries.

Salt has notched up his second half-century of the season and his 75-run partnership with Carey has put the Strikers in a very good position here.

Imad Wasim took Alex Carey wicket and soon followed suit scooping a Peter Hatzoglou delivery into the grasp of Mackenzie Harvey as he walked off on 59.

Gibson didn’t last long, going after three balls when Hatzoglou hit his wicket to see the Strikers lose three wickets for nine runs.

Weatherald didn’t stay out there much longer, either, going for 19 after facing just 10 deliveries.

Rashid Khan followed for a golden duck and a late flourish from Jonathan Wells (15*) left the Renegades needing 178 for the win.

While chasing the target of 178 runs Renegades got off to the worst possible start while batting with Aaron Finch 14 runs off 15 deliveries dismissed by Wes Agar. Mackenzie Harvey 14 runs off 13 deliveries Sam Harper 18 runs off 14 deliveries and Jack Prestwidge 14 runs off 13 deliveries small contribution Inning.

A target of 178 was never going to be easy, but the Renegades managed to get there with one delivery to spare thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 71 from Mohammad Nabi.

The Afghanistan star was well supported by Jake Fraser-McGurk with the duo putting on 68 runs for the fifth wicket from just 44 deliveries.

With this win, the Renegades have put a stop to a seven-match continuous losing
