Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals both the team have won their previous IPL Encounters convincingly.

KXIP openers KL Rahul and Mayank Aggarwal started of well scoring 60 for loss of no wickets at the end of 1st powerplay.

Kings XI Punjab were 102/0 at end of 9th Over scoring at 10 an Over.

This is the highest opening partnership between KL Rahul and Mayank Aggarwal in IPL 2020 surpassing 94 runs between Prithvi Shaw & Shekhar Dhawan vs CSK in Dubai.

At the end of 10th Over Kings XI Punjab were 110/0.

Both the batsmen KL Rahul and Mayank Aggarwal scored their half-century in quick time, Mayank Aggarwal went to score his maiden IPL hundred.

For Rajasthan Royals, there was some respite when Ankit Rajpoot got the wicket of KL Rahul and Tom Curran getting the wicket Mayank Aggarwal.

Rajasthan Royals not getting their line and length right helped Kings XI Punjab to go on and score 223/0 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals need 224 to win, Smith and Co. needed to start well in the powerplay overs and they couldn’t afford too many quiet overs too at the start.

Rajasthan Royals chasing lost their opener, Jos Butler, score read 19/1 in 2.2 Overs.

Chasing a mammoth total, the Royals had to come out all guns blazing. Sanju Samson and Steven Smith went to give their team a solid partnership scoring the highest powerplay score 69/1 in IPL 2020 beating the Kings XI Punjab score of 60/0 in the same match.

Steve Smith trying to keep up with the run rate got out to James Neesham after scoring his 10th IPL Half Century.

Rajasthan Royals send Rahul Tewatia to play a cameo before Robin Uthappa.

Sanju Samson at one end kept scoring runs, at the other end Rahul Tewatia was struggling to strike the ball with his bat.

Sanju Samson was out of the bowling of Mohammed Shami for 85 runs. Kings XI Punjab came back strongly.

With Tewatia at one end scoring 5 off 13 at one point of the match, literally undoing all the great work done by Smith and Samson and Robin Uthappa at the other end Rajasthan Royals hope of winning the game was looking bleak as they needed 63 to win off 24 balls.

Tewatia who couldn’t put the bat on the ball before had smashed five sixes in an over of a quality pacer Sheldon Cottrell, scoring 30 runs of Cottrell over.

Rajasthan Royals chased down scored 226/6 won the match with three balls to spare.

Sanju Samson is the Man of the Match scoring 85 off 42 balls.
