The United Arab Emirates has emerged as the top contender to host Indian Premier League, subject to government clearance and the International Cricket Council (ICC) announcing the postponement of the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia.

Yesterday, BCCI’s Apex Council met via video conference, the board discussed at the conditions for domestic cricket, tournaments and Indian cricket team International schedule.

A final decision on IPL will be taken after the final word is out on the T20 World Cup which is set to be held in Australia, is officially postponed.

The BCCI will then approach the Indian government to check if they can host the IPL in India given the scenario at that time of Coronavirus situation in India. If the situation is not conducive to host the IPL, BCCI will shift the game to UAE.
