India playing to get their run-rate better than Afghanistan to keep themselves alive in the tournament clinched a comprehensive victory against Scotland by chasing down 86 runs in 6.3 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja (15/3) and Mohammad Shami (15/3) helped India to close Scotland’s
innings at 85. KL Rahul scored the fastest fifty of the tournament in 18 balls.

Indian cricket team, whose chances to qualify for the semi-finals are very bleak at their best for the remaining of the tournament to give themselves a chance.

It was very important for India to go ahead of Afghanistan and New Zealand if they have to qualify for semis, and they have achieved the feat with one more match remaining, but their fate of qualifying depends heavily on the match between New Zealand and Afghanistan.

India taking on Scotland in their 4th match won the first time and chose to chase down the
target. Indian team, who has been criticized a lot recently after losing to Pakistan and New
Zealand had to fetch comprehensive victories to have some odd chances to qualify and
performed a lot better than it was expected to.

India began with bowling in the very right areas. Jasprit Bumrah bowling on good length area in the powerplay to attack from the very first ball, and Jadeja got the best from the wicket, got the turn, skidded the ball, and struck 3 wickets to get the man of the match award. George Munsey 24(19) for Scotland was the highest run- scorer.

India determined to finish the match at the earliest were batting with the objective to chase down it in the powerplay. KL Rahul got to his fifty for 18 balls, and Rohit Sharma scored 30 runs off 16 balls, before getting out on the last ball of 5th over to Bradley Wheal.

Both the batters destroyed Scotland’s bowling playing pull shots to cover drives. It was the cricketing sight at best seeing KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma hitting, fencing cricket ball attempting pull shots to flick shots.

India won it by 8 wickets and are at 3rd position on the points table with 6 points and a
net run rate of positive 1.619.

New Zealand will play Afghanistan on 7th November and India will play Namibia on 8th
November. Pakistan has already qualified for Semis winning all their 4 matches.
