The Indian cricket team are reportedly set to play their maiden pink ball Test in Australia later this year in Adelaide.

According to a report, India will also be playing the opening Test of the series at The Gabba in Brisbane on December 3, followed by the day-night Test in Adelaide on December 11 before the two traditional Boxing Day at Melbourne and Sydney.

India’s series with Australia might not still be guaranteed considering international borders still remain shut in both countries, and any chance of crowds being present at matches will depend on how the Covid-19 situation develops over the next few months.

Before the series against India, Australia will play a one-off Test match against Afghanistan at the WACA in three years and including T20I series’ against West Indies and India that were meant to act as warm-ups for the T20 World Cup which is now expected to be postponed.

If the T20 World Cup is postponed and the IPL take place instead of the World Cup, Australian players with contracts will end up missing part of the domestic season.

Border-Gavaskar series:

First Test: The Gabba, December 3

Second Test (D/N): Adelaide Oval, December 11

Third Test: Melbourne Cricket Ground, December 26

Fourth Test: Sydney Cricket Ground, early January
