A chaotic day of cricket at Adelaide Oval total 15 wickets gone as saw Australia took the final four wickets in India’s first innings at the start of play and the first of India’s second by stumps.

India was bowled out for 244, losing four wickets in 23 minutes, with just 11 runs added to the overnight total. It took just 25 balls Australia to wrap up the Indian innings on day two, as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc made light work of the tail.

Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins accounted for four and three wickets respectively. Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon registered one dismissal apiece. India was bowled out for 244, with Starc and Cummins seemingly doing the struggling Joe Burns a huge favour by ensuring he will start his innings under sunshine and not floodlights.

The visitors had ended the opening day with a score of 233 for six, following a collapse triggered by the dismissal of Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper was dismissed for 74 runs off 180 deliveries in an innings. Score Card

Australia has been bowled out for 191 on Day 2 of the opening Test in Adelaide, resulting in a first-innings lead of 53 runs for Team India, with Tim Paine’s unbeaten 73 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah trapped both Matthew Wade (8) and Joe Burns (8) in front before Ravichandran Ashwin ran riot by removing Steve Smith (1), Travis Head (7), Cameron Green (11) and Nathan Lyon (10). In between, Umesh Yadav removed Marnus Labuschagne (47) and Pat Cummins (0) and Mitchell Starc was run out. Yadav returned to have Josh Hazlewood (8) caught in the cordon to end the Australian innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin accounted for 4 wickets. Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah completed 3 and 2 dismissals respectively.
