Eoin Morgan’s England enjoyed a superb outing in Dubai as the team secured a confident eight wicket-win over Australia

It was the mini-Ashes here in the T20 world cup, and England comprehensively won the match against their opponent.

This was the third one-sided victory for England in their third match of the tournament. Jos Buttler stood out with the bat scoring 71 off 32 balls, and Chris Jordan for his bowling performance of 17/3 was awarded man of the match.

It was another match at Dubai International Stadium and as laid out by the records and pundits team chasing will always have an edge over the other team and that’s what was done by invited Australia to bat first, and Australia couldn’t have imagined for the more worst start.

Australia lost 4 wickets in the first 37 balls with only 21 runs on the board. David Warner,
Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis were the 4 batters to depart. Aaron Finch did hold his end with a sloppy strike rate but that was good enough given the situation Australia was in.

Aaron Finch added some pivotal runs with Mathew Wade and Ashton Agar for Australia’s total. Aaron Finch scored 44 off 49 balls, and a little cameo from Mitchell Starc, in the end, helped Australia to get 125 on the board.

Chris Jordan was 17/3, Chris Woakes got 23/2, and Tymal Mills got 45/2. Adil Rashid and Livingstone also got 1 wicket each.

126 seemed to be a very easy target for England, looking at the attacking nature of cricket they play in white-ball cricket.

Jos Buttler and Jason Roy had got 60 percent of the runs in the powerplay itself, message from England has been clear enough, no matter what the target is, their brand of cricket doesn’t change.

Jos Buttler being the epitome of England’s nature of batting was lethal to Australian bowlers and got 71 off 32 balls. Contributions from Roy, Bairstow, and Malan were crucial, but if it wouldn’t have been, Buttler was in the form that he would have got those runs alone.

England chased down 126 in the 11.4 overs. England after winning 3 out of 3 now sits on first position and has almost qualified for the semi-finals, and Australia is now on the third position, as South Africa defeated Sri Lanka to get that second spot.

India will play New Zealand on 31st October.
