PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth are out of the BWF Tour Finals after suffering losses for the consecutive day of BWF Tour Finals in Bangkok on Tuesday With two losses in two matches, the Indian will not qualify for the Knockout stage.

While PV Sindhu lost in straight games against Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 18-21, 13-21, Kidambi Srikanth fourth hard before going down to Tzu Wei Wang of Chinese Taipei in the three games 21-19, 9-21, 19-21.

Sindhu showed some fight in the opening game but wasn’t able to control as she lost the opening game 18-21 to Intanon, who had defeated her last week in a lop-sided Thailand Open quarter-final clash. Intanon then came out with an even better performance in the second game to seal it 21-13 and registered a comfortable win in the match which lasted just 43 minutes her semi-final hopes took a major hit.


It wasn’t my day. Losing the first game made the difference. My timing was a bit off, so a bit disappointed. I will have to win against Pornpawee tomorrow. In the women’s single Group B Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand won the matches to make it to the next stage. She beat Ratchanok Intanon on Wednesday and Tai Tzu Ying on Thursday.

Both Ratchanok Intanon and Tai Tzu Ying won one match each and they face each other on Friday. The winner of this match will make it to the Knockout stage.

PV Sindhu will face Pornpawee Chochuwong on Friday and she wins it she will not qualify.

A day after losing her Group B opener against current world number one Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan 21-19, 12-21, 17-21, World champion Sindhu suffered a straight-game defeat vs Ratchanok Intanon 19-21, 13-21 as her semi-final hopes took a major hit.

Draws

In Men’s Single Group B, Anders Antonsen of Denmark and Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei made it to the knockout stage with two victories each.

Srikanth will face Ng Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong of Friday. Either of them will not qualify.
